Professional drivers who carry fare-paying passengers or who drive heavy lorries on our crowded roads are required to undergo periodic medical examinations to ensure that their health does not impair their driving.

We aim to make these health check's as convenient as possible and provide medicals for Lorry, Bus, Coach, Taxi and Private Hire drivers.

Lorry drivers have a great responsibility and need to be very skilled -driving large and heavy vehicles, often over large distances and at night, can be demanding. For this reason they need to be medically fit and are required by the DVLA to undergo a periodic medical examination for all LGV license holders.

Professional Bus and Coach Drivers hold extremely responsible jobs – safely carrying dozens of passengers in a large and heavy vehicle requires superior driving skills and it is important that poor health does not affect the driver’s safety. For this reason the DVLA require PCV License holders to undergo a periodic medical examination.

Taxi and Hackney Medicals: We can do medical examinations for those applying for a first taxi licence and existing taxi drivers renewing their licences. The majority of councils allow their drivers to go to any registered doctor but it is important that you check with your licensing department before you come to us.
